How to Measure Your Thobe Size

  • 2 min read

At Jubbas, we offer a huge array of thobes for every occasion.

However, we know that many of our customers feel a little wary about sizing. That’s natural when you’re buying your thobe online. You don’t have the opportunity to try it on before you buy and you don’t want to go through the hassle of sending it back if it doesn’t fit.

That means you need to know what size to get before you place your order.

We help here with our handy size chart. Use it to check your thobe’s measurements before you place your order. You can buy based on your height, which is the simplest way to do it.

However, you may want to get a little more specific and measure based on your entire body. This is how you do it.

Start with Your Neck Measurement

Use a flexible tape measure and wrap it around your neck. The important thing is that you don’t need to do this as tightly as you might presume. Instead, leave enough room between the tape and your neck so that you can insert two fingers between them.

This will give you an accurate measurement as it provides you with the space around the neck that you need to feel comfortable.

Measuring Your Shoulders

Start by placing your arms by your sides.

Now, you need to measure correctly. Start from the point where your left shoulder drops off into your arms. Measure across to the same point on your right shoulder to get your measurement.

Figuring out Your Arm Length

Using the same point as the shoulder measurement, run the tape measure down the length of your arm.

Follow the curvature of the arm and measure all of the way down to your thumb joint. This will usually be about an inch or so below your wrist.

Check Your Biceps and Wrist

Those with thicker arms will feel uncomfortable if they buy a thobe based on these measurements.

With your arms down by your sides, wrap the tape measure around the widest part of your bicep. Keep the muscle relaxed at all times during this process.

Do the opposite for your wrists. Measure the narrowest part, which is typically directly behind your wrist bone.

Measuring Your Chest

Here, you’re looking to measure the widest part of your chest. Typically, the tape will wrap around just above your nipples. This accounts for the effects your trapezius muscles may have on the measurement.

Keep your arms by your sides as extending them gives an inaccurate measurement.

Finish With Your Stomach

Stand naturally and completely relax your body. Now, measure the widest part of your stomach using the tape measure. Don’t suck your stomach in or push it out. It’s crucial that you completely relax your body to get an accurate measurement.

The Final Word

And there you have it. You’ve now accurately measured yourself for your thobe so you don’t need to worry about getting the wrong size.

All you need to do now is to make your choice. Check out the collection of thobes in the Jubbas catalogue and don’t hesitate to ask us any questions.
